Dante Cunningham scores 21 in summer league debut
Last night Cunningham played his first summer league game as a member of the Portland Trailblazers and was perhaps the most impressive player on his team. He finished with 21 points and nine rebounds on 8-for-17 shooting, including 5-for-6 at the free throw line.
After the game, Blazers summer league coach Joe Prunty said this about Cunningham:
“He looked very comfortable. I thought he did a really nice job setting screens, slipping screens, separating after he set screens. I thought he did a really nice job of going after boards. He got a few of what I like to refer to as ‘dirty rebounds,’ where they’re out of your area, you hustle after them. They’re not the ones that sort of fall into your lap. So I really appreciated the effort he gave. “
