New details on Redding arrest

Here is an update from Philly.com, which is doing a great job of covering the arrest

What you need to know:

  • On August 20th, Redding will appear before District Judge David Lang on charges of possessing a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia – both misdemeanors.  Interestingly enough, the fall semester begins August 24th, so I’m assuming this appearance will be crucial towards whether he is suspended for the semester or not.
  • The traffic sign that Redding’s car struck was on South Ithan Avenue.
  • The damage to the sign and Redding’s car was an “obvious” match according to police.
  • The incident occurred at 1:51 AM on Tuesday morning.
  • When approaching the car, Villanova Sgt. Brad Bergey noticed a “clear bag containing a green leafy vegetable matter in the center cupholder” of the car, and a grinder.
  • Redding was the one driving the car.  Some other reports suggested he may not have been.
  • Redding was cooperative, remorseful and not impaired according to police.
  • According to Redding’s attorney, Redding was in his dorm and came out to the car when he saw flashlights by his car.
