Quick Recap: Villanova 103 Penn 65
Unlike the game against FDU this past Friday, Villanova took care of business early and blew away the Penn Quakers 103-65. Up by 30 points at the half, Villanova once again let its depth shine as the team’s bench scored 46 points, led by the team’s leading scorer Maalik Wayns, who finished with 16.
Six Wildcats were in double figures in total, including Wayns, Taylor King, Corey Fisher, Corey Stokes, Scottie Reynolds and Antonio Pena.
After exchanging hoops early, Villanova took control of the game as the team went on a 16-0 run to take a 20-5 advantage. After that run, the Wildcats never looked back.
Aside from Wayns, King was the team’s most impressive player, excelling off the bench in a multitude of ways. In addition to scoring 14 points, King finished with seven rebounds, including four key offensive boards.
Next up for the Wildcats will be the team’s trip to Puerto Rico, beginning with a game Thursday against George Mason.
